About Us

Safe Horizons is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Umatilla serving at risk children.
We are advocates, supporters, and prayer warriors who are helping to fight the fastest growing criminal activity in the world, human trafficking. We do this by supporting organizations, serving foster kids and fulfilling needs of troubbled youth in our community.
We meet the second Tuesday each month at First Baptist Church of Umatilla in room 112 at 6:30pm to pray and plan.

Why?

As Christians we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and in the Bible God tells us:

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. -James 1:27

The Lord watches over strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, But He thwarts the way of the wicked.
Psalm 146:9

How Can I help?

Make a Donation

Cash donations help support established anti-trafficking and foster organizations.
Gift cards from places like Walmart, Target, Dollar General and even Amazon help fulfill specific needs as they arise for: trafficking victims, kids in need, and youth aging out of foster care.
There are Safe Horizons collection boxes at each FBCU information desk.
